Lauren Osinski has almost twenty years experience as a soloist, chamber, and orchestral musician. She first heard the rich, soothing sound of the viola in Kindergarten and has been playing ever since. She began Suzuki Method instruction privately at age seven.

Lauren studied under the mentor-ship of Tsuna Sakamoto of the National Symphony Orchestra. She attended the National Symphony Orchestra’s Summer Music Institute for two summers. Subsequently, she was selected to attend the Meadowmount School of Music in New York where she studied with Patricia McCarty of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Lauren participated in Karen Tuttle Viola Workshops at NYU and Oberlin Conservatory. There she performed in masterclasses with renowned teachers and performers, including Karen Ritscher, Sheila Brown, Jeffery Irvine, Susan Dubois, and Michelle Lacourse. She was selected to perform in the University of Maryland’s School of Music Viola Day Masterclass with Katherine Murdock.

Lauren is a former member of the American Youth Philharmonic. She participated in AYP’s Music Buddies Mentorship Program teaching violin and viola to underprivileged children in the Northern Virginia area.

She was the principal violist of Osbourn Park High School’s Chamber Orchestra and performed at the World Projects Washington D.C. International Music Festival at the Kennedy Center. Lauren was selected as principal violist for the All-County and All-Regional Orchestras.

Lauren is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music where she continued her viola studies with Masao Kawasaki of The Julliard School.
